The Oregon Coast offers fantastical rock formations, one of which is called “Needle’s Eye,” a narrow passage between wave-carved cliffs traversable only during low tide. This natural wonder—with its raw and dangerous beauty—and the finely polished mussel shell found there, became the impetus for a tunnel book.
